TO DRIVE A 7D VEHICLE, A DRIVER MUST HAVE A 7D CERTIFICATE AND BE QUALIFIED.
1- We provide the 2-hours of pre-service training required for new 7D applicants.
New applicants must successfully complete 2 hours of pre-service training before applying for a School Pupil (7D) certificate.
2- We provide the 8-hours of in-service training required to renew a 7D certificate. The 8-hours are provided in 2 separate 4-hours sessions.
Beginning July 1, 2020, 8 hours of in-service training must be completed for all 7D Renewal Applications.

Who can drive a 7D vehicle?To drive a 7D vehicle, a driver must have a 7D certificate and be qualified.

How do I apply for a 7D certificate?To apply, you must:
- Be at least 21 years old
- Have a valid Class A, B, C, or D driver's license for at least three years
- Pass a CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) check and a SORI (Sex Offender Registry Information) check

How long is a 7D certificate valid for?A 7D certificate is valid for one year, except for applicants over 70, insulin-dependent diabetics, or those who have had a hypoglycemic episode. For these applicants, the certificate is valid for six months.

What if my 7D certificate expires?You have up to two years to renew an expired 7D certificate. If more than two years have passed, you must complete the entire process for a new 7D certificate.
